Tinubu: Every vote counts, Obasa tells entertainers

According to a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Eromosele Ebhomele, Obasa issued the order when he met with the Progressive Coalition of Entertainers, fronted by the well-known actor Saheed Balogun, in the Assembly premises on Thursday night.

The Speaker congratulated the group of social influencers for their efforts to ensure Tinubu’s win in the presidential election and charged them with maintaining their ties with the state government.

“Our task is to involve people, enlighten them and make them see reasons why they should continue, particularly here in Lagos, to support the APC. They have always supported the APC and we want them to continue.

“To us, every vote is an investment because every single vote counts,” Obasa said while commending the group for assisting in mobilising and enlightening the electorate.

“For example, while some young people on social media decry unavailability of sufficient school chairs in primary schools, the government already projected for enough chairs for anticipated school children and is overwhelmed with the influx of more people to Lagos State, a number that can never be determined,” he said adding that this applies to all sectors of the state.

Balogun stated that the group of more than sixty celebrities chose to promote and preach Tinubu to the public since he transformed Lagos into the smart metropolis that it is today.

Balogun remarked that Tinubu paved the way for subsequent governments to place Lagos in a position envied by other states.

The actor described some of the group’s operations, stating that they intend to influence public opinion through social media, door-to-door engagements, and a town hall gathering.

As artists with a significant social media following, they see a chance to reach out to and engage potential voters, he stated.

Asiwaju Tinubu, he said, had done much to qualify him to be the future president of Nigeria, and they intend to continue releasing his accomplishments.

“Asiwaju has done well and it is time to pay back. Every successive government continues to build on his foundation,” he said.JAMB Result
