Ganduje Slams Kano Governor Over Statements On Tinubu’s Palliative

Ex-Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, has taken a swipe at his successor, Abba Yusuf, over the latter’s comments on the post-subsidy removal palliative plan introduced by President Bola Tinubu.

Ganduje called on Yusuf to prioritise implementing concrete plans to alleviate the suffering of the people in Kano State rather than finding faults in Tinubu’s initiative.

Speaking through his deputy, Aminu Abdussalam, Yusuf’s criticism was centered on the mode of distribution of the N500 billion palliatives for small-scale industries, which was adopted by the Federal Government.

He argued that the distribution plan disproportionately favoured Lagos State and the South-South zone, while leaving other states and regions at a disadvantage.JAMB Result

“The distribution of the N500 billion palliatives for small-scale industries is heavily skewed in favor of Lagos state and the South-South zone, leaving other states with significantly lower percentages,” the deputy stated.

However, Ganduje urged Yusuf and the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) to learn from Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, who, according to him, has been making commendable efforts to ease the burdens faced by the masses.

Ganduje encouraged the adoption of effective measures to address the pressing needs of the people instead of criticizing the efforts made by others.

“We call on the NNNP government to borrow a leaf from Governor Uzodinma’s book and focus on initiatives that will alleviate the suffering of the masses,” Ganduje said through his ex-Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Muhammad Garba.NYSC Portal
