About The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA)

The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) was established in January 1964 as an improvement of the then British run Royal Military Forces Training College (RMFTC) that was then renamed to the Nigerian Military Training College (NMTC) upon independence.

The Military institute trains and equips officers of the Nigerian Army, Navy, and Air Force. The first class were only 62 cadets and trainers.

The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) which is located in Kaduna is the first established military university in Nigeria, before the establishment of the Nigerian Army University in 2018, in Biu, Borno State.

In the Nigerian Defence Academy, you are given 5 years of training which includes 4 years of academic studies and 1 year of military training.

Admission Requirements For the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA)

Before you visit the NDA registration portal, first go through the admission requirements below:

1. The requirements for applicants with undergraduate degree programmes are as detailed in the NDA website/applications portal. Visit the website at ndaapplications.net to check requirements.

NDA Screening Test Date and Requirements

The following are the requirements for the NDA Screening Test:

1. The NDA screening test will be conducted as phase one of the Post-UTME screening .
2. All eligible candidates are expected to bring along their Acknowledgement Form, Screening Test Admission Card, JAMB result slip and TWO (2) postcard size (3.5 x 5 inches) photographs to the Screening Test Centre.
3. Applicants photographs should be from the chest upwards. Also, candidate’s Name, Exam number, State, Exam Centre, Course of study and Signature should be written at the back.WAEC Result
4. Successful candidates during the NDA Screening Test will be invited for phase 2 of the screening test at the Armed Forces Selection Board.

Nature and Duration of NDA Training

1. All successfully candidates admitted into NDA for Regular Course program will undergo military and academic training as Officer Cadets for a duration of 5 years (4years academic training and 1 year military training).
2. Upon successful completion of the training course, you will earn an honours degree in a core discipline (BSc, BEng, BA).
3. You will also earn a Presidential Commission into the Armed Forces of Nigeria.JAMB Result

NOTE: The Federal Government of Nigeria will bear the cost of administration and logistics for all regular course cadets training in the NDA

How to Apply on the NDA Registration Portal

All applicants for the Nigerian Defence Academy are to visit the application portal at www.ndaapplications.net to apply. On the portal select “Purchase Access Code” and fill in your details to pay for application form via REMITA. You are expected to pay N3,500.00 only.Things to buy for office desk

NOTE: Only payments made via RRR code generated on the application portal will be accepted.

Submission of NDA Application

1. All application forms are to be submitted together with scanned SSCE results online.
2. When submitting your application form, candidates are to download an Acknowledgement Form.

Candidates seeking For the 72^nd Regular Course admissions into the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) must:

1. Be medically and physically fit.
2. Must be of good moral character.NDA Registration Portal
3. Must be single male or female without legal obligation to support any child or other individuals.
4. Must have a Certificate of Origin from a state government or local government in Nigeria.
5. Must be at between the ages of 17 to 21 years.
6. Must have a minimum of 5 ordinary level credits at GCE, SSCE (WAEC, NECO, NBAIS and NABTEB) English language, Mathematics and three other subjects which are relevant to the intended programme in not more than 2 sittings.JAMB Form
7. Must have passed the JAMB Unified Tertiary Matriculation examinations (UTME) and attained an acceptable minimum national standard.
8. Applicants must not be less than 1.68 meters tall for males and 1.65 meters for females.
