How to Calculate your Screening Points for Admission

Many Higher Institutions make use of the Point Grade system to select candidates for admission. Some make use of only your O’level result and your JAMB score, while others use your O’level result, JAMB score, and Post UTME score.JAMB Result

However, most universities use the same Point Grading system for both the O’level result and JAMB score, while the Post UTME point grading may differ a little. Having said that, let’s take a look at the Point Grading System for Admission used by most universities:

O’Level (WAEC/NECO/NABTEB) Result Point Grading System

The grading system below is valid for both WAEC, NECO, WAEC GCE, and NABTEB O’level results.

Note: These two-point grading formats are used by most Higher institutions in Nigeria. However, there are other institutions that make use of other point grading formats in which your O’level result will make up 40% of your total screening point, while your JAMB UTME score will make up the remaining 60%.

Other Possible Grading systems for O’level result

Some Universities will only make use of the 5 relevant subjects on your O’level result with the best grades to calculate your screening point. The O’level results chosen will make up 40% of your total screening point in the following order:How to Check MTN Bonus Balance

If your chosen institution is using this particular grading system, then that means that, if you have 5 straight A1, you will have a total point of 40%.

JAMB Result Point Grading system

The JAMB point grading system of most universities usually varies. Some University uses a 60% total grading point for the JAMB result, while others use a 50% grading point. If you’re chosen institution uses the 60% total grading point then their admission screening score will be in the following order:JAMB Form

When calculating your Screening point for admission, there are some factors you will also have to consider. Factors such as the number of sitting for your O’level result also have their own allocated screening point.Npower Recruitment

  • The screening point for 2 sitting in WAEC/NECO/GCE/NABTEB is Two (2)WAEC Result
