The Bank Verification Number, also commonly known as BVN is a biometric identification system that was implemented by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in alliance with the Nigerian Interbank Settlement System (NIBSS) to reduce or curb illegal or fraudulent transactions in Nigeria.
