Dss Recruitment – The date for the commencement of the online registration in 2023/2024 has not been scheduled, in this write-up, we will keep you informed on the guidelines, the application form, and requirements every intending candidate will need to keep abreast in the recruitment process to be a member of the Department of State Security.

How To Apply

  • The Official portal to apply for the DSS is via the official recruitment portal @ www.dss.gov.ng/dss-career
  • Go through the requirement and choose the position you want to apply for.
  • Supply the necessary information and submit your credential
  • After this, you can go ahead and submit it.
  • Applicants after submitting must print out their online acknowledgment slip when they finish their application. The first page is supposed to carry a signature of the court of law while the second page is meant to carry the signature of the local government or An army officer not with the least rank Jamb Result

The Requirements 

  • Applicants are to possess BSC or HND Certificates or Masters Certificates in the selected disciplines.
  • Applicants must be between the age range of 20-30, with an exception of medical consultants who are to have a maximum age of 40.
  • Applicant must have a referee form filled by his Local Government Chairman or an Officer of the Armed Forces not below the rank of lieutenant colonel from the state of origin of the candidates, passport photographs must be fixed to the referee form.
  • Applicants should be Nigerian Citizens by birth or descent.
  • Applicant’s height should be a lower limit of 1.7 meters and for females 1.64 for females.
  • Applicants must be mentally and physically fit.
  • An applicant with past criminal records.
  • Applicants must not belong to any cult or have any report of drug addiction.
  • Applicant must possess at least a BSC or its equivalent from a recognized university with not less than Second Class Lower Division or HND of not less than Lower Credit from any accredited polytechnic or monotonic.

Documents Needed

  • A letter showing the local government you are from, with a signature appended by the Local government Chairman.
  • A Handwritten letter of application to The Director-General, State Security Service.
  • Applicants are to be in possession of their statement of results.
  • Applicants are to come to the recruitment venue with two recently taken passport photographs

People Barred From Applying For The DSS Recruitment.

  • Foreigners will not be accepted into the DSS.
  • Candidates above 30 years of age will not be accepted.

Functions Of The DSS.

Every Federal Government Parastatal have its core functions, the DSS is no different, as this service has its own specific duties which have it’s legal backings; The DSS functions written in the 1989 Nation Security acts are listed as follows.

  •  The DSS duty is to prevent, find and take action against any crime that threatens the internal security of           Nigeria.
  • The DSS duty is to protect and maintain all non-military classified issues concerning the internal security of         Nigeria.
  • The DSS duty is to give attention to other issues such as matters affecting internal security within Nigeria as the National Assembly or the President, as the case may be, may deem necessary.
  • The DSS duty is to stop and detect all crimes of a military nature against the security of Nigeria.
  • Protection and preservation of all military classified matters concerning the security of Nigeria, both within and outside Nigeria; Waec Result
  • To attend to other such responsibilities affecting defense intelligence of a military both within and outside Nigeria, as the President or the Chief of Defence Staff deem necessary.
  • The general maintenance of the security of Nigeria outside Nigeria, concerning matters that are not related to military issues. Npower Recruitment

  • President.

  • Speaker of the House of Representatives.
  • State Governors.
  • Deputy Governors.

  • Former presidents and their spouses.
  • Candidates vying for the offices of President and Vice President.
  • Foreign heads of state and government officials who are visiting the country.
