The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is a Swiss-based foundation launched at the UN in 2002 to tackle the human suffering caused by malnutrition. Working with both governments and businesses, we aim to transform food systems so that they deliver more nutritious food for all people. In particular, we aim to make healthier food choices more desirable, more available, and more affordable. GAIN’s mission is to advance nutrition outcomes by improving consumption of nutritious and safe food for all people, especially the most vulnerable to malnutrition.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

1.) Project Manager, SBN (Sun Business Network)

Location: Abuja

Job Requirements
Competencies, Skills and Attributes:

  • Excellent stakeholder management, with the ability to operate within the corporate and public sectors to effectively liaise with private companies, development agencies, and governments at senior level.
  • Ability to advocate, cultivate and negotiate significant senior level partnerships and relations and operate in high level meetings and similar settings
  • Excellent follow-up skills within a diverse set of concurrent operation, programme, and business development related functions
  • Strong presentation and communication skills in multi-cultural, multi-lingual environments
  • Ability to provide direction and support in the development and dissemination of strategy, policy analysis, and recommendations
  • Critical thinking that demonstrates good judgment, expert problem solving, and creativity
  • Strong leadership/team management
  • Excellent negotiation skills and effective risk management
  • Innovative mindset
  • Takes initiative, prioritizes, multi-tasks, and works well under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Organization and planning Skills
  • Strong ICT proficiency.

Other requirements:

Salary
NGN 8,923,728 – NGN 10,183,104 / Annum, depending on experience

2.) Junior Associate, Food System Dashboard

Location: Abuja

Educational Qualifications

  • University level Degree in a relevant field such as, Nutrition Science, Public Health, Business Administration, Food Technology, Sociology Development Studies or Agricultural Science with demonstrable progress experience in the same/similar role
  • A Master’s Degree in any of the above field with two years’ experience will be an added advantage

Experience:

  • Demonstrated professional experience directly, or indirectly, related to product development, food systems, and international development, including the implementation of market-based agricultural or nutrition programs
  • Proven experience with admin and procurement functions
  • Excellent writing skill is required.

Job Requirements
Competencies:

  • Demonstrable experience and skill in project management
  • Experience in partnership/stakeholder management
  • Negotiation skills required to support the management of contractors and vendors contracted to deliver high quality results
  • Highly organized and detailed-oriented
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all staff
  • Strong communication skills in multicultural, multi-lingual environment
  • Proven ability to generate and deliver reports that provide useful insight into project details
  • Strong communication skills
  • Pleasant disposition with a good-natured, cooperative attitude
  • Able to demonstrate good judgment, problem solving, and creativity
  • Computer literacy with good Excel, MS Word, Outlook, and Power Point skills
  • Flexible, adaptable, and available to take on other tasks or duties as requested by the supervisor.

  • Experience in stimulating demand for food and agricultural commodities through social or commercial marketing methods

The starting salary on offer for this role is from NGN 5,139,552 – NGN 5,860,896 / Annum, dependent on experience.

3.) Senior Associate, Innovations, Business Models & PPPs

Location: Abuja

Job Requirements
Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Marketing, Public Health, Nutrition, Business Administration, Food Science, Public Policy, Innovations Management, IT or related field.

Other Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in English essential
  • Other languages such as French desirable. Pounds to Naira

Competencies:

  • Good project management skills
  • Proven ability to use initiative, prioritize, multi-task, and work well under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills in multicultural, multi-lingual environments, written and verbal. Media savviness is a plus
  • Flexible, goal oriented and willingness and ability to travel
  • IT literate with excellent MS Office skills including advanced Excel and PowerPoint
  • Self-management (independence and initiative)
  • Team working and partnerships
  • Communication and strategic influencing

Experience:

  • We are seeking someone who is intellectually curious but prepared to get their hands dirty and be able to build unusual partnerships. Key attributes include:
  • Private sector experience is a must. A blend of experience from public and private sectors preferred.
  • Experience of both B2B and B2C markets is an added advantage
  • Track record of out of the box thinking; whether systems design or innovations, technology, markets.
  • Specific experience from the food processing/agribusiness sector
  • Strong background in brand management, innovations, market analysis, market shaping strategies, supply chain management or digital programs to improve services in agriculture, food industry or public health
  • Experience driving digital projects and knowledge of agile project management approaches, an added advantage
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work in an international team, comfortable with multi-tasking and operating in a fast paced, multi-faceted, and multi-cultural environment
  • Experience working at both at global and country levels and on PPPs preferred
  • Savviness across various media platforms a distinct advantage
  • Knowledge or experience in food fortification will be an added advantage
  • Experience in business consultancy an added advantage

4.) Programme Associate, USAID AN National Food Systems Dashboard

Location: Abuja

Requirements
Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Nutrition, Food Science, Food Safety or related field
  • Master’s Degree in relevant discipline such as Public Health, International Development, Anthropology, Sociology, Economics, or a suitable equivalent

Experience:

  • Professional experience engaging with government partners and diverse stakeholders in a programme or project support role
  • Experience participating in research projects, monitoring, and evaluation, and data collection
  • Experience organizing stakeholder engagement activities, including meetings, workshops, and trainings
  • Working on food systems related activities

Competencies:

  • Knowledge/Familiarity with food systems and nutrition indicators and data
  • Computer literacy with good Excel, MS Word, Outlook, and Power Point skills and internet applications
  • Results focused and able to work in a team
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Good project management skills alongside good partnership/stakeholder management skills
  • Highly organized and detailed-oriented
  • Strong administration, logistics, coordination and facilitation skills
  • Ability to write analytical and technical reports
  • Good interpersonal and effective communication skills in multicultural, multi-lingual environment
  • Flexible, adaptable, and available to take on other tasks or duties as requested by the supervisor.

Salary and Benefits

  • The starting salary on offer for this role is from NGN 6,897,828 – NGN 7,876,788 per annum, depending on experience.
