International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is seeking the services of both qualified and experienced job seekers to fill the vacant positions in their Organization.

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies is the world’s largest humanitarian network and is guided by seven Fundamental Principles: Humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, universality and unity.

We are recruiting to fill the following positions below:

1.) Regional Coordinator, Climate Change Adaptation

Location: Abuja

Education

  • Advanced University Degree (Master’s Degree or equivalent) in Climate Change, Disaster Risk reduction or related field (Required)IFRC Job Recruitment

Experience:

  • Five to Seven years of professional experience in climate change adaptation and community-based programming in a developing context (Required)
  • Experience in managing people and a team (Required)
  • Relevant experience in programme/project development and management (Required)
  • Experience working in humanitarian or development sector, with developing countries and/or with an international organization (Required)
  • Experience working in an international or cross-cultural environment (Required)
  • Experience working in a RC/RC National Society and/or Federation/ICRC/Climate Centre (Preferred)

Knowledge, Skills and Languages:

  • Programme and budget management (Required)
  • Knowledge of climate change adaptation and climate-smart disaster risk reduction ability to support such programmes (Required)
  • Results oriented and demand driven individual, entrepreneurial, ability to lead in unprecedented and/or ambiguous situations. (Required)
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills, including the ability to lead within a matrix management structure and utilise talent and experience of team members in a productive way (Required)
  • Outstanding networking, representational, communication and negotiation skills. An ability to be proactive and persuasive (Required)
  • Demonstrated track record in innovating, contributing to a learning culture, sharing knowledge and new approaches to engaging partners (Required)
  • Professional credibility, able to work effectively at all levels across the organisation (Required)
  • Proven good judgment and ability to work with complete integrity and confidentiality (Required)
  • High degree of discretion, tact and sensitivity in dealing with internal and external clients and stakeholders at all levels (Required)
  • Ability to work within a multi-cultural, multilingual, multidisciplinary environment (Required)

2.) Health and Care Officer

Location: Abuja

Educational Qualifications
Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Medicine, or Health Management or related discipline.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in public health, Medicine, or Health management or related discipline

Experience:
Required:

  • Minimum of 4 years of job-related experience in clinical, public health, emergency health community health, humanitarian response,
  • Minimum 4 years of work experience in health programming/management, including at least three years of field experience in humanitarian contexts/ or experience working for the Red Cross/Red Crescent movement.
  • Experience in managing & supporting staff.
  • Experience overseeing project planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting, ideally for health-related projects.

Knowledge, Skills and Languages:
Required

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite and other relevant software/programs
  • Proven experience in project management, including needs assessments, project design, MEAL, planning and reporting.
  • Operational management and reporting skills.
  • Experience in training, facilitation, coaching and development of staff and volunteers.
  • Motivated, self-started personality, sense of responsibility and organization skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and prioritize workload to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and networking skills.
  • Flexibility and ability to travel to the operation’s areas.
  • Fluently spoken and written English Language.
