You’ll be required to provide your Nin at the bank if you need a new account or you want to fix certain issues with the bank such as an incorrect name or date of birth. You’ll be required to provide your NIN to acquire a driver’s license and even an international passport.

Is NIN compulsory for Waec in 2022/2023?

Last year (2021), Waec’s Council Head of National Office (HNO), Mr Patrick Areghan announced that NIN will become a major requirement for WASSCE registration in 2022/2023. According to him, every eligible Nigerian child will be able to write the 2022 Waec examinations. He said that students without NIN won’t be a problem as they have instructed principals of schools to compile and send a list of all the prospective students without NIN to the council.
