How to Verify your NIN Number Online

To verify your NIN number online, follow the procedures below:

  1. Visit the official NIN Verification Portal via https://nimc.gov.ng/verification-service-api/
  2. Scroll to “Verify NIN” and click on it
  3. Enter your 12-digit NIN number into the required column
  4. After entering your NIN number, type in the security code into the required column
  5. Click on “Submit
  6. A message will be displayed notifying you whether your NIN is verified or not.
  7. If your NIN has not been verified, visit the closest NIMC office with your NIN number and get it verified.WAEC result

Another way to check if your NIN has been verified is to try linking it up to your SIM card. If the process comes out successful, then your NIN has been verified by NIMC.

How to Check your NIN Number

Have you forgotten your NIN number? Or you can’t recall where you wrote it down? Worry not, you can retrieve your NIN number easily using any of the phone numbers registered to the NIN number. To do this, follow the procedures below:JAMB form

  1. Go to the call (phone) app on your mobile phone
  2. Dial the code *346# using your MTN, Glo, 9mobile, Airtel, Etisalat, etc.
  3. After dialing the code, you will see several options displayed on the screen
  4. Select “NIN retrieval” by tapping on “1” button
  5. This service will cost you a fee of NGN 20 only, which will be deducted from the airtime balance on your SIM card.JAMB Result

That’s it! You’ve successfully retrieved your NIN number using your SIM card. Do not forget that this procedure will only be possible if the line has been previously linked to the NIN number.
