JAMB Subjects Combination for Adult and Community Education 

This section of the JAMB Brochure for Adult and Community Education Programmes shows the subjects candidate need to write in their JAMB UTME as related to their course of study.

Note: English Language is a compulsory subject for all candidates in JAMB irrespective of course of study or institution of choice. Therefore, all candidates seeking admission to study Adult and Community Education degree programme in Nigerian Universities will write the following JAMB subjects; How to Check AMB result

Use of English and any three (3) from Arts or Social Science subjects.

Example 1: Use of English (compulsory), (2) Government (3) IRK/CRK, (4)Literature-in-English

Example 2: Use of English (compulsory), (2)History (3) Civic Education, (4) Economics,

Example 3: Use of English (compulsory), (2)Economics, (3) Government, (4) Hausa/Yoruba/Igbo

Example 4: Use of English (compulsory), (2) French  (3) Government, (4) Literature-in-English 

O’Level Requirements for Adult and Community Education 

This section of the JAMB Brochure for Adult and Community Education  Degree Programmes shows the SSCE (WAEC, NECO, GCE, NABTEB) requirements for your course of choice.

These are WAEC subjects for Adult and Community Education , NECO subjects, NABTEB subjects needed for final admission into Adult and Community Education  degree programme in your school of choice.

The UTME requirements are; How to Check WAEC Result

(i)  ESUTECH does not insist on Mathematics.

(ii)  RSUST accepts a pass in NCE General English and Basic Mathematics.

(iii)  EBSU – ‘O’ Level credit pass is required for all Science based combinations while ‘O’ Level pass   is required for Social Sciences.

(iv)  IBADAN requires five (5)’O’ Level credit passes at one (1) sitting to include English Language.

(v)  PHC requires five (5)’O’ Level credit passes in English Language, the teaching subject and any other three (3) subjects.

(vi) LAGOS requires  Five O/Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and any three of Literature-in-English, History/Government, Geography, Economics, Commerce, any Nigerian Language, CRS/IRS, French, Civic Education/Social Studies, Biology/Agricultural Science, Financial Accounting, Food & Nutrition, Business Studies and other relevant subjects in Humanity.

(vii)   CALABAR requires ‘O’ Level credit pass in English Language and ‘O’ Level pass in Mathematics.

(viii)  UNN requires as follows

(a)       Candidates seeking entry into the four (4)-year degree programme must satisfy the University’s requirements which stipulates five (5)’O’ Level credit passes in English Language and a Science subject in addition to any three (3) other relevant subjects.

(b)      Candidates seeking entry into any of the six (6) specialized areas of the combination in the Arts and Social Sciences must meet the University’s requirements in addition to the requirements of the department into which they are seeking admission.

(ix)     AAUA requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics and three (3) other relevant subjects.

(x)      TASUED requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes at one (1) sitting or six (6) ‘O’ Level credit passes at two (2) sittings to include English Language and other subjects from Arts, Social Sciences or Sciences. ‘O’ Level pass in Mathematics is also required.

(xi)     OAU requires five (5) credits at ‘O’ Level to include English Language, Mathematics and any three (3) of Arts, Social Science or Science subject.

(xii)   EKSU requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics for candidates combining with Social Science subject, a pass in Mathematics for candidate combining with Art subjects at not more than two sittings in relevant subject areas.

(xiii)  ILORIN requires five (5) ‘O’ level  credit passes in GCE/SSCE/ TC II or equivalent to include English Language, Mathematics and any three (3) other Arts/Social Science/ Science Vocational subjects.

(xiv)  ABU accepts Five ‘O’ level credit passes in Arts & Social Sciences including English Language and Mathematics. TC II with Five Credit including English Language with at least a pass in Mathematics.

(xv)   PHC- For Adult and Non-Formal Education requires  Five (5) O level credit passes including English Language and any other four (4) relevant subjects from French, Literature in English, History/Government, CRK/IRK, Economics, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Agricultural Science, Further Mathematics, Technical Drawing, Physics, Igbo/Hausa/Yoruba, Fine Art, Geography, Commerce, Accounting.

 

UTME SUBJECTS

(i)      LAGOS accepts English Language and any three of Literature-in-English, History/Government, French, Geography, Mathematics, any Nigerian Language, CRS/IRS, Economics, Commerce, Civic Education, Social Studies, Financial Accounting, Biology/Agricultural Science, Food & Nutrition.

(ii)     RSUST accepts a pass in NCE General English and   Basic Mathematics.

(iii)    CALABAR same as in Education Arts or Social Sciences.

(iv)    UNN requires

(a)       For the three (3) professional Adult Education options candidates seeking entry into the four (4)-year degree programme must take English Language and any other three (3) subjects in Arts and Sciences as their choice.

(b)       For those combining Adult Education with English Language, their UTME subjects must include English Language, Literature in English and any other Arts subject.

For other combinations, English Language plus any other Arts or Science subjects related to one’s choice of combination.

(i)         BENIN

a.  For Adult Education Professional, it requires any three (3) subjects chosen from Arts or Social Sciences.

b.   For Adult Education Economics and Statistics, it requires Economics, Mathematics and one (1) other Arts or Social Science subject.

c. For Adult Education, English and Literature requires Literature in English, one (1) Arts subject and any other subject.

d.   For Adult Education, Geography and Regional Planning requires Geography, one (1) Social Science subject and any other subject.

e.  For Adult Education, Political Science and Public Administration requires Government or History, one (1) Social Science Subject and any other subject.

(ii)  TASUED accepts any three (3) subjects.

(iii)  MAIDUGURI requires any three (3) subjects.

(iv)  EKSU requires Government/History, one (1) Social Science subject and any other subject.

(v)  ILORIN requires any three (3) Arts/ Social Science/ Science subjects three subject from (a) Arts (b) Social Science and (C) Science.

(vi)    ABU requires Use of English and any subjects.

(vii)  PHC For Adult and Non-Formal Education requires  Any three (3) relevant subjects from French, Literature in English, History/Government, CRK/IRK, Economics, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Agricultural Science, Further Mathematics, Technical Drawing, Physics, Igbo/Hausa/Yoruba, Fine Art, Geography, Commerce, Accounting.

Direct Entry Requirements for Adult and Community Education Degree Degree Programme

This section of the JAMB Brochure for Degree Programmes shows the requirements you need to be admitted into Adult and Community Education  Programme via direct entry.

(i)      PHC – For Adult and Non-Formal Education accepts Two (2) Advanced level GCE or HSC or JUPEB or IJMB passes in the relevant subjects in addition to UTME entry requirements. NCE with Credit Passes in the relevant subjects from recognized Institutions in addition to UTME entry requirements. Diploma in Adult Education, Community Development, Social Welfare, Religion, Health and Physical Education at credit level in addition to UTME entry requirements

(ii)     IBADAN does not accept TC II after 1981. It also requires ‘O’ Level credit pass in Mathematics for all Science based combinations and Economics while ‘O’ Level pass in Mathematics is required for Social Sciences.

(iii)    UNN accepts

(a)     candidates who pass at the ‘A’ Level or at the principal level in the HSC in two (2) subjects including that to be combined with Adult Education.

(b)    Candidates with ND at Distinction, credit, or merit levels in other disciplines not related to Adult Education who pass UNN’s requirements plus ‘O’ Level credit pass in any related Science or Arts subjects for Direct Entry four (4) year programme.

(iv)    BENIN accepts ‘A’ Level passes in relevant Arts and Social Science subjects plus three (3) ‘O’ Level passes including English Language at one (1) sitting.

(v)     MAIDUGURI accepts ND/HND credit.

(vi)    LAGOS accepts   NCE credit/merit in: English, History, French, Geography, Igbo/Yoruba, CRS/IRS, Economics, Government, Business Education and Accounting Education. Very good passes in three JUPEB subjects: Literature-in-English, Economics, CRS/IRS, Government, History, Igbo/Yoruba, Geography, Mathematics and French. Three ‘A’ Level passes from English, History, French, Geography, Mathematics, Igbo/Yoruba, CRS/IRS, Economics, Government, Office Practice.

(vii)   BENIN requires

(a)   Two (2) or three (3) NCE merit plus three (3) or two (2) ‘O’ Level credit passes including English Language at one (1) sitting.

(b) ND upper credit plus three (3) ‘O’ Level credit passes including English Language at one (1) sitting.

(viii)  NDU – Same as Vocational and Technical Education.

(ix)  TASUED requires;

a)  At least two (2) ‘A’ Level passes/NCE Merit or a Diploma in Adult Education and relevant teaching subjects from recognised institutions with upper credit.

b)  OND/HND with upper credit.

(x)  OAU requires merit pass in any two (2) of the major subjects at NCE. Merit pass is also required for candidates with double major.

(xi) EKSU accepts Two (2) passes in relevant subject areas at advance level with SSCE/GCE ‘O’ Level Credit passes in three other subjects Passes in two (2) major subjects in relevant areas in NCE and ‘O’ Level Credit or its equivalent in three (3) other subjects. Education is accepted as a third ‘A’ level subject for those taking course in Education. General English passes at NCE is taken in lieu of ‘O’ level credit passes in English.

(xii)     ILORIN accepts;

a)       At least two (2) A Level passes in GCE/IJMB or equivalent to include at least one Teaching subject in Art/Social science/ Science subjects.

b)  NCE with at least one teaching subject in Arts/ Social Science/ Science subjects.

c)  Diploma in Adult Education with a minimum of merit pass.

(XIII) ABU accepts  ABU Diploma in Adult Education with minimum of Merit. NCE with Merit in Education and C in one of the Combination. Two ‘A’ Level/IJMB passes in any two Subjects.
