How to know your NIN (Online Approach)

Recovering your NIN online is always a hassle because there is no direct means or approach to get your NIN online. However, there’s a way to go about it. We’ll use the “NIMC: MobileID” app to check NIN online.

Note: You’ll be unable to use this method to recover your NIN if you haven’t already installed and registered the app.

To learn how to find your NIN using the NIMC: MobileID app, follow the instructions outlined below:

  • Open the NIMC: MobileID app and log into your account.
  • On the Home screen, tap on Get Security Pin found under the Quick Actions
  • Copy the code you find there. Note that the OTP expires in 60 seconds
  • Tap on Print NIN Slip. You’ll be asked to input your UserID and the OTP. You can copy your UserID by tapping on the hamburger (three horizontal lines) icon found at the top left corner of your home screen
  • Input your UserID and the OTP copied before tapping on Submit
  • On the print NIN slip screen, tap on the hamburger icon found at the top left corner of your screen
  • Now you either tap on Print Premium Slip or Print Standard Slip. Depending on your decision, you’ll be required to pay NGN 400 or NGN 1000 via Remita for NIN Standard Slip or NIN Premium Slip, respectivelyWAEC result

After printing your NIN slip, you’ll find your NIN written at the bottom of the Slip. The disadvantages of using this method are that you’ll spend money and must have already registered the NIMC: MobileID app.JAMB form

The offline NIN recovery approach is the cheapest way to find your NIN using your mobile phone. The best part is that it doesn’t have to be a smartphone, as you can also use feature phones to find your NIN.

Select NIN Retrieval from the options displayed on your screen. You can do this by typing 1 using the number linked to your NIN.
