The protesters, including the 19 arrested individuals and several others, had gathered at the premises of the AMMC to express their opposition to the demolition of a mechanic village in the Kubwa area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). He explained that the employees in the building were performing their regular duties when the protesters arrived and caused a disturbance.

The 19 protesters were apprehended on charges of violently disrupting the peace in the area.
