Windows 12 might have just been leaked by Microsoft and Intel

There have been numerous rumours about a possible Windows 12 release, but this latest leak appears to be the most concrete proof of the new operating system’s existence.Information Guide Nigeria

The Verge reported that hardware leaker @leaf hobby revealed information about Intel’s Meteor Lake desktop platform. Intel has reportedly stated that its upcoming CPUs will support Windows 12 according to these details. Microsoft and Intel have both declined to comment to The Verge on the veracity of this report and other rumours since then.

Prior to this leak, Windows Central’s Zac Bowden reported that Microsoft would adopt a new engineering schedule that would see the release of a new version of Windows OS every three years. If this information turns out to be accurate, Windows 12 would be released in 2024.

In addition, Bowden revealed that the next Windows OS release will be called “Next Valley.” Even an image of the operating system was displayed at Ignite 2022, with the design purportedly intended to adapt to various devices and accessories.NYSC Portal

Additionally, there is a rumour that Windows 12 will be the first cloud-based operating system, which doesn’t sound too far-fetched. If so, it could be hosted off-device and packaged with computing and storage as part of a subscription service. I honestly find the future terrifying.

Subscription-based software, such as the Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office, are already abundant. Moreover, if you’re on a tight budget and can’t afford the expensive pricing, this presents a challenge. However, these products can be easily replaced by open-source, free alternatives.

Having an operating system softly installed on a computer is an entirely different animal. Businesses have used virtual desktop setups for years to support BYOD scenarios, but nothing compares to having the operating system on any Windows PC or laptop stored in the cloud, with features that are supposed to be standard being offered at a premium price.JAMB Result

Hopefully, this set of rumours will be disproven as time passes.
