Baobab Microfinance Bank is an investment company whose mission is to create a group of leading microfinance banks and finance companies in at least 15 countries by 2015 that will provide financial services and savings products to entrepreneurs who lack access to the traditional financial sector. Baobab was created in July 2005 by PlaNet Finance, and other investors including International Finance Corporation, AXA Belgium, and Societe Generale, with the European Investment Bank, the French Development Agency and Developing World Markets Joining later.

We are recruiting to fill the following positions below:

1.) Loan Officer

Locations: Rivers and Abia

Profile and Requirements

  • Education: HND / B.Sc qualification.
  • Basic Knowledge in Accounting, Finance and Mathematics.
  • Previous work experience or training in sales (preferred).
  • Applicants must be between the age of 20 – 35 years.

Required Skills:

  • Preferably applicants must reside within the location he/she is applying for.
  • Fluent in English (written/spoken).
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Target oriented.
  • Articulate and well-spoken.
  • High level of integrity.
  • Dynamic and motivated individuals who like to work outdoors.

  • Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 2 years work experience.

  • Experience in Logistics and management of till box.

  • Excellent knowledge of officer software (word, Excel)
  • Ability to work under pressure

  • Ability to work in a team
  • Good knowledge stock management, mailing and archiving
  • Good sense of initiative, communication

4.) Senior Human Resource Officer

Location: Lagos

Roles & Responsibilities

  • To handle all the documentation aspects of the human resource department from recruitment to induction to training and onboarding.
  • To coordinate recruitment and selection as well as document all grading documents.
  • To document all the appraised staff and escalate where necessary
  • Documents and record all the leave and salary advances, all exit interview and clearance.
  • To also keep in record and document resignation letters.
  • Prepare Payroll documentation.
  • To monitor, ensure and document that all staff possess the organizational working tools.
  • Employment and compliance to regulatory concerns and reporting to the HRM.
  • Policy documentation.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications of new employees.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Protect organization’s value by keeping information confidential
  • Develop and implement human resources policies and procedures.
  • Review and update employee rules and regulations
  • All the general human resource record keeping.
  • Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting HR functions.
  • Assist in the administrative functions.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications and Requirements

  • University Degree
  • Fluent English, and Proficient use of Google App

Key Requirements:

  • Applicant must be a certified HR practitioner (CIPM/SHRM/HRCI)
  • Applicant must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in similar role
  • Applicant must have good knowledge of the labor law and industry standards
