The Africa leadership has been diverse and complex, due to influence by a range of factors like culture, history, politics, and socio-economic conditions. While some African leaders have been praised for their visionary leadership and charisma, others have been criticized for their arbitrariness.

There have been exceptional leaders in Africa who have made significant contributions to their countries and the continent as a whole.
