BVN, which stands for Bank Verification Number, was introduced in February 2014 by the CBN in collaboration with all the banks operating in the country in a bid to curb illegal transactions and fight cybercrime (fraud).Check BVN Number

It is a banking system that is used to verify the identity of its customers. A customer’s BVN is mapped to the individual’s biological traits, such as the facial photograph taken at the point of registration, signature, and fingerprint.

In 2022, having or enrolling for a BVN is now compulsory for anyone who wants to operate a bank account or carry out banking or financial transactions in Nigeria.Npower Recruitment

Much like your National Identification Number (NIN), your BVN is something that should be guarded and protected, it’s not something you should be careless about because it carries personal and sensitive details about you.
