The Nigerian Customs service was established in 1891 with the responsibility of revenue collection, accounting for same and anti-smuggling activities. Eligibility Requirements for all Applicants

All applicants applying for vacancies in the custom service recruitment 2023 must possess the following requirements:

  1. Must be a Nigerian Citizen by birth or descent
  2. Applicants must be between the ages of 18 to 30 years
  3. Must not be less than 1.7 meters in height for males, and 1.64 meters for females.
  4. Must have a fully expanded chest measurement of not less than 0.87 meters for male.
  5. Must be certified by a Government Medical Officer to be physically and mentally fit for appointment in ServiceNpower Recruitment
  6. Must not be suffering from any form of physical or mental disability
  7. Must be free from any form of financial embarrassment
  8. Must be of good character and must not have not any criminal record
  9. Must present a certificate of state of origin signed by the Chairman/Secretary of their Local Governments. Any certificate endorsed by a Liaison officers will not be accepted.

Superintendent Cadre Requirements:

  1. Senior ranking officers comprising Assistant Superintendent of Customs.
  2. Applicants that are between the ages of 18 to 30 years
  3. Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s Degree or an HND equivalent in any of the relevant fields of study and NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate.

Inspectorate Cadre Requirements:

  1. Mid-Level officers comprising Assistant Inspectors of Customs.
  2. Applicants must possess ND/NCE got from accredited Polytechnics in any of the listed fields of study in the cadre and NYSC Discharge or Exemption certificate
  3. Applicants that are aged 18 to 25years

Assistant Cadre Requirements:

  1. Junior ranking officers comprising Customs Assistant.
  2. Applicants must possess SSCE/NECO or GCE with credits in not less than 3 subjects including English and Mathematics got at one sitting and passes in at least two other subjects.

OR

  1. Applicants must GCE Ordinary Level with passes in four subjects including English and Mathematics got at one sitting or five or more subjects including English and Mathematics got at not over two sittings for Customs Assistant Grade-II – CONSOL 04.
  2. Applicants must possess evidence of full course in Government approved first school leaving certificate or S.75 or JSSC OR relevant Trade Test certificate for Customs Assistant – CONSOL 03.

How to Fill the Recruitment Form

To fill the customs service form, ensure that you have the following documents:

Biodata:

  1. Ensure that your biodata is properly captured on the recruitment portal.

Passport Photograph:

  1. Upload a recent passport photograph with the following specifications:
  • A JPG, JPEG, PNG image file.
