How to Check if My SIM is Linked to NIN – Are you worried that your SIM card has not been successfully linked to your NIN? If so, then you need to check and confirm if it has been linked to your NIN.Information Guide Nigeria

According to the Nigerian Communication Commission, all SIM cards not properly linked to the National Identification Number (NIN) will be barred from making local and international calls. If you do not wish to encounter such a problem, it’s best you confirm if your SIM card has been linked, and if it hasn’t, you link it up immediately.

How to Check if Your SIM Card is Linked to NIN

To check if your SIM card has been linked to your NIN, follow the procedures below:

  1. Go to the Call app on your mobile phoneHow to Qualify for NYSC
  2. Dial the code *346# using your SIM card (MTN, Airtel, Glo, 9mobile)
  3. Series of options will be displayed on the screen after dialling the code
  4. Select “NIN Retrieval” from the options displayed by pressing “1
  5. A notification will be sent to you, containing the NIN linked to the SIM card. Confirm if the NIN is the same as yours, if it is, then your SIM is linked to the NIN.
  6. You will be required to pay a service charge of N20 for the procedure.

Note: The USSD code *346# can be used on all SIM cards in Nigeria including MTN, Glo, Airtel, 9mobile, etc.

How to Link Your NIN to MTN SIM Card

If you’re using MTN SIM card, follow the procedures below to link it to your NIN:

  1. Copy out your 11-digit NIN number on a piece of paper, or save it on your phone’s clipboard
  2. Go to the call app on your mobile phone
  3. Dial the code *785*Your 11-digit NIN number#
  4. For example dial; *785*64812640614#How to Get Married to a Doctor in Nigeria
  5. After dialling the code your NIN will be linked to the MTN SIM card automatically.

Congratulations! You have successfully linked your NIN to MTN.

OR,

  1. Visit the website https://mtnonline.com/NIN/ and download MyMTN app
  2. After installing the MyMTN app, launch it
  3. Enter your 11-digit NIN number into the required column
  4. Enter your MTN phone number into the space provided
  5. Click on “Submit
  6. You will receive an OTP code from MTN
  7. Enter the OTP code you received into the required column
  8. Click on “SubmitNpower recruitment

Congratulations! You have successfully linked your NIN to MTN.

How to Link NIN to Airtel SIM Card

If you’re using an Airtel SIM card, follow the procedures below to link it to your NIN number:

  1. Copy out your 11-digit NIN number on a piece of paper or save it on your phone’s clipboard
  2. Go to the call app on your mobile phone
  3. Dial the code *121*1# using the Airtel SIM card
  4. After dialling the USSD code your NIN will be automatically linked to the Airtel SIM card.

Congratulations! You have successfully linked your NIN to your Airtel.

OR,

  1. Visit the Airtel NIN portal at https://airtel.com.ng/NIN/
  2. Enter your 11-digit Airtel phone number into the required column
  3. Click on “Proceed
  4. An OTP code will be sent to the Airtel SIM card for confirmation, enter the OTP code you received into the required column.
  5. Now enter your 11-digit NIN Number
  6. Click on “Submit

Congratulations! You have successfully linked your NIN to your Airtel.

How to Link your NIN to Glo SIM Card

If you’re a Glo user, then follow the procedures below to link your NIN to Glo.

  1. Copy out your 11-digit NIN number on a piece of paper or save it on your phone’s clipboard
  2. Go to the messaging app on your mobile phone
  3. Type the message “UPDATENIN, Your 11-digit NIN number, First name, and Last name
  4. For example type; “UPDATENIN 64812640614 John Bassey”
  5. Send the message to “109
  6. After sending the message you will receive a notification indicating that your NIN has been linked to the GLO Sim card.WAEC result

OR,

  1. Dial the code *109* your 11-digit NIN number# using the Glo SIM card
  2. For example, dial, *109*64812640614#
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to submit your NIN and other details
  4. After entering your details, tap the “Send” icon
  5. A notification will be sent to you indicating that your NIN has been linked to your Glo SIM card.JAMB form

Congratulations, you have successfully linked your NIN to Glo.

How to Link NIN to 9Mobile SIM Card

If you’re using 9mobile SIM card, follow the procedures below to link it to your NIN:

  1. Go to the call app on your mobile phone
  2. Dial the code *2008*# using your 9mobile SIM
  3. You will receive a notification indicating that your NIN has been successfully linked to 9mobile

Congratulations! You have successfully linked your NIN to 9mobile SIM card.

OR,

  1. Go to 9mobile NIN portal at https://9mobile.com.ng/NIN
  2. Enter your 11-digit mobile phone number
  3. Click on “Proceed
  4. An OTP code will be sent to your mobile SIM card for confirmation, enter the OTP code into the required column.
  5. Enter your 11-digit NIN number
  6. Click on “SubmitJAMB Result

Congratulations! You have successfully linked your NIN to 9mobile SIM card.
