-Local feed of 1,700kg at N160 per kg, at f c r of 1.7:1.  cost  272,000

-Cost of feeding: let assume it is N2,000 per month for five month cost  10,000

-Cost of logistics: let assume it is N2,000 per month for five months cost 10,000

-Security: let assume it is N1,000 per month for five months cost                5,000

-Cost of Medication, this is optional at 2,000

-Cost of Cropping cost    3,000

-TOTAL 379,000

-Preparing pond, and this is only applicable to earthen pond cost 10,000

-Provision of net including workmanship cost      4,000

-Procuring young catfish, that is, at N20 each; between 6 grams and 10 grams cost             20,000

-Feeds, floating on daily basis, 74 bags at f c r of 1.1.1kg at N7000 each cost 510,000

-Cost of feeding: let assume it is N2,000 per month for five month cost  10,000

-Cost of logistics: let assume it is N2,000 per month for five months cost 10,000

-Security: let assume it is N1,000 per month for five months cost                5,000

-Cost of Medication, this is optional at 2,000

-Cost of Cropping cost    3,000

-TOTAL 597,000

Sales Table:

Expected Quantity To Be Harvested In Naira Value:

-1,050kg of catfish at the current price rate of N480 per kg cost   504,000

-Total    504,000

Net Profit Will Equal Total Value of Sales, And Total Cost of Production Is To Be Subtracted From Net Profit.

-Hence, For Cost Table For Combination Of Floating And Sinking Feed:  It is. 504,000 – 379,000 = 125,000

And For Cost Table Only Floating Feed:

It is. 504,000 – 597,000 = -93,000, which shows a net loss

Conclusion

The more the quantity of fish, the higher the profit expected. Nevertheless, I will advise that, farmers can start with a 1,000 of fish and then can as well, increase the quantity, as this will aid them in learning and understanding the rudiments of investing in a profitable catfish farming.
