BREAKING- CBN Postpones eNaira launch

The Central Bank of Nigeria has announced the postponement of its Digital Currency, eNaira.

This was announced by CBN spokesman, Mr. Osita Nwanisobi while speaking to newsmen in Abuja.

Mr. Osita Nwanisobi said that the CBN took this decision in deference to the mood of national rededication to the collective dream of One Nigerian. Information Guide Nigeria

Nwanisobi stated that the CBN and other partners were working round the clock to ensure a seamless process that will be in the overall benefit of customers, particularly for those in the rural areas and the unbanked population.

Speaking about the benefit of eNaira,  Nwanisobi  said it will enable peer-to-peer transfer to another person’s eNaira wallet as well as pay for goods and services at selected merchants and will help to reduce the use of cash and ensure stability of the Nigerian economy.

THE SUN reports that he assured financial institutions in Nigeria remained key parts of the Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC).

He added that the bank had put structures in place to promptly address any issue that might arise from the pilot implementation of the eNaira. JAMB Result
