The negotiations stalled between the two clubs a week or so ago as Everton were pushing to land him on a free transfer and PSG wanted a fee. However, the talks resumed and Gueye is on the cusp of returning to Goodison Park on a permanent deal.
And according to French sports daily L’Equipe, the Toffees are to pay a fee of €10m to sign him from the Parisians. Everton eventually relented and agreed to part ways with a considerable fee to get their hands on Gueye.
The midfielder has agreed to sign a two-year contract with Everton with an option of another year. Gueye’s return to Everton is set to be finalised today as he closes in on a return to Goodison Park this summer.
