Educational technology is an important part of the society as it involves the process of integrating technology into education in a positive manner that promotes a more diverse learning environment and a way for students to learn how to use technology (Wikipedia).
Educational technology is not solely exclusive to high technology but also have to do with material tools and theoretical foundations for supporting learning and teaching. It is anything that enhances classroom learning in the usage of blended, face to face or online learning.

Educational technology encompasses e-learning, instructional technology, information and communication technology (ICT), learning technology, multimedia learning, computer-based instruction, technology-enhanced learning (TEL), computer managed instruction, computer-based training (CBT), computer-aided instruction (CAI), online education, web-based training (WBT) digital educational collaboration, distributed learning, computer mediated communication, cyber-learning, virtual learning, personal learning environments, networked learning, virtual learning environments (VLE), m-learning, digital education, ubiquitous learning, etc while the human resources includes teachers, lecturers, web developers, etc.
In Nigeria, not all the educational technology resources are applied but some are used and its impact can rightly be seen in some of the educational sectors if not all.

Educational technology helps to improve the quality of education by enhancing the teaching and learning process which brings about better performance and increase the standard of education in the country.

Educational technology facilitates efficiency in the system of education as it eliminates the traditional way of sourcing for information and learning.
