James Rodrguez, a former attacking midfielder for Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, has joined Olympiakos, according to the Greek team’s announcement on Thursday.

Over 35,000 spectators gathered at Giorgos Karaiskakis Stadium in Piraeus to support new Olympiakos teammates Rodriguez and Vieira as they watched their team play Freiburg in the Europa League.

Before the game began, Rodriguez displayed his No. 10 Olympiakos jersey to the spectators, who chanted, “He is here. He is here.” as well as “James Rodriguez!”

“This is a new chapter in my life and I’m very excited about it,” Rodriguez told media.
