Kerr was honoured following another outstanding season for club and country, winning the FA Cup and Women’s Super League double with Chelsea and claiming the Golden Boot as England’s best scorer for the second year in a row.NYSC portal
The 2022 Players’ Player of the Year was also Australia’s best scorer at the AFC Women’s Asian Cup, but she has stiff competition after finishing second in the same honours last year behind Alexia Putellas.
Kerr has also finished third in voting for the other major global award, the Ballon d’Or Feminin, the last two years, trailing winner Putellas.
Despite missing much of last year due to injury, Barcelona’s Putellas is back on the list.
She’ll be joined by three members of England’s World Cup-winning squad – top scorer Beth Mead, captain Leah Williamson, and midfielder Keira Walsh – and Jessie Fleming, Kerr’s Canadian teammate at Chelsea.JAMB portal
Messi is also one of 14 players on the list, which includes 2022 Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema, two-time winner Robert Lewandowski, Paris Saint-Germain colleague Kylian Mbappe, and Manchester City scoring sensation Erling Haaland.

But it felt like an era was over as Ronaldo’s name was conspicuous by its absence.
The Portuguese, who had been released by Manchester United and was benched by Portugal during the World Cup, won the FIFA award for the first two years in 2016 and 2017, and was on the podium for the next three years.
While Messi seemed certain to be recognised for engineering Argentina’s World Cup victory, Ronaldo was not even named as a contender by a FIFA-appointed panel.
Alou Kuol, the elder brother of Newcastle wunderkind Garang, is the other Australian named to the ‘FIFA Best’ lists.
The 21-year-old struck a stunning’scorpion kick’ effort for Australia’s Under 23 side against Iran’s U23s, and his effort will be judged alongside ten other belters, including Mbappe’s spectacular second in the World Cup final.
