How to Transfer Data From Airtel to MTN

Although both Airtel and MTN telecommunications networks offer their users the ability to transfer data to other users, this ability is restricted to only users on the same network. That is, if you’re using the Airtel network, then you can only transfer data to another Airtel user. And if you’re using an MTN network, then you can only transfer data to other MTN users.

Sending data from an Airtel SIM card to an MTN SIM card is not possible. If you wish to purchase data for someone on another network, then the best approach is to purchase data for the phone number directly from your bank account.

How to Transfer Data From Airtel to Airtel

To transfer data from an Airtel line to another Airtel line, follow the procedures below:

  1. Go to the phone dialer App on your mobile phone
  2. Dial the code *141*6# using your Airtel sim
  3. Select option 8 (Data Me2U) from the list of options displayed on your screen
  4. Select option 2 (Send Me2U from existing allowance) from the options displayed
  5. Enter the recipient’s Airtel phone number
  6. Enter the amount of data you wish to transferTransfer data from Airtel to MTN
  7. Enter your Airtel 4-digit transfer PIN (The default PIN is 1234)
  8. Confirm the transfer by clicking on OK

Congratulations you have successfully transferred data to another Airtel number.

Note: For the procedure to be successful, you must have sufficient data on your MTN SIM card.

How to Transfer Data From MTN to MTN

To transfer data from your MTN line to another MTN line, follow the procedures below:

  1. Go to the Phone dialer App on your mobile phone
  2. Dial the code *131*7# using your MTN lineJAMB Result
  3. Select option 1 (transfer from data balance) from the options displayed
  4. Enter the recipient’s MTN Phone number
  5. Enter the amount of data you wish to transfer to the recipient
  6. Enter 1 to confirm the transaction.

  1. You can transfer the data via text messageNpower Recruitment
  2. Go to your messaging app, and click on the new message
  3. Enter the message “Transfer, the recipient’s phone number, then amount of data
  4. For example; type “Transfer 08123456789 500”
  5. Now send the message to “131
  6. You will receive a notification from MTN confirming the transaction
