Virgil van Dijk international team-mate would join Liverpool for ‘£200,000 per week’

Dutch centre-back De Ligt, who plays alongside Virgil van Dijk for the Netherlands, joined the Italian giants in 2019, with a deal that landed him 12million euros per season. But thanks to a realigning of The Old Lady’s finances, he is almost certain to turn down a new deal to stay in Turin, which would see his annual earnings capped at 7.5million Euros.
Per Calciomercato claims that the 22-year-old would only consider a move to one of four clubs – Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City, or Liverpool. The player is, however, under contract in Serie A until the end of the 23/24 season, giving Juventus time to consider how best to manage the situation with one of their top players.
Liverpool are unlikely to pursue a deal for a player who would currently command a transfer fee of around 73milllion euros, especially with Van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, Joel Matip, and Joe Gomez all still on the Anfield books.
