We are recruiting to fill the following positions below:

1.) Program Coordinator, Nigeria PQM+ Program Global Health & Manufacturing Services

Location: Abuja

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field required and;
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience with program management support and administration for global health programs or large-scale, international development assistance programs; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. U.S. Pharmacopeial Convention Recruitment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Competency/Leadership Assessment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: U.S. Pharmacopeial Convention Recruitment

  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Demonstrates  effective time management and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent presentation and reporting skills
  • Comfortable working with internal and external professionals
  • Demonstrated ability to support the implementation of multiple projects in a timely manner, including support to the development and monitoring of budgets.
  • Advanced computer competence (MS Office programs, MS Project, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel spreadsheet or similar)
  • Prior USAID experience in global health programming and knowledge of USAID rules and regulations preferred.
  • Awareness of the role of pharmaceutical management in Global Health is beneficial.
  • Ability to travel is needed.

Restrictions or key requirements for the position:

  • Should be able to speak the local dialect fluently.

2.) Technical Advisor, Regulatory Systems Strengthening (RSS)

Location: Abuja

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 + years of relative experience in regulatory system strengthening related work preferably with organizations such as USAID, World Health Organization or any of the UN agencies.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Science, Chemistry, Engineering or Science related field of study required
  • Subject matter expert in any of the following national regulatory systems, pharmaceutical policy/regulations, market authorization, post-market surveillance, licensing or inspections.
  • Knowledge of international regulatory guidelines
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing regulatory systems
  • Strong written (especially technical writing) and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Direct experience implementing USAID-funded programs
  • Minimum of 5+ years of people management experience and skills
  • Direct experience with and understanding of WHO global benchmarking tool

3.) Technical Advisor – RSS Pharmacovigilance

Location: Abuja

Who USP is Looking For?
The successful candidate will have a shown understanding of our mission, commitment to excellence through diverse and equitable behaviors and practices, ability to quickly build credibility with collaborators, along with the following competencies and experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy, Clinical Pharmacology or relevant field.
  • Eight (8) years’ experience in regulatory systems strengthening, especially related to pharmacovigilance, safety surveillance, clinical pharmacy, and/or pharmaceutical regulation
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of the guidelines, SOPs, national and international norms, and practices of PV systems, especially in Africa
  • Knowledge of adverse trends and events reporting

Additional Desired Preferences:

  • A Master’s Degree in Pharmacy, Clinical Pharmacology or related field or a PharmD or in Clinical Pharmacy
  • Demonstrated hand-on experience in assessing gaps, developing plans and strengthening PV system in Africa, Asia or any other region.
  • Hand-on experience in providing support in:
    • Developing capacity building of Pharmacovigilance centers and managing its operations
    • Developing training materials and courses, seminars, workshops etc.
    • Deployment of tools and guidelines for pharmacovigilance implementation
    • Sensitizing and raising public awareness on pharmacovigilance
  • Direct experience and understanding of the WHO Global Benchmarking Tool, especially the vigilance function
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting clients with quality management systems for ISO 13485 – medical device regulation, post-market surveillance and quality assurance
  • Familiar with Risk Management (ISO 14971) activities including risk assessments and PMS/PV/VL surveillance technical and regulatory requirements. U.S. Pharmacopeial Convention Recruitment
